Cordelia Foresman Moore
Cordelia Foresman Moore, 85, of Allentown, PA, formerly of Binghamton, NY and recently a resident of Luther Crest retirement community, died Monday, June 17, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Chevy Chase, MD. She graduated from Penn State University in 1949 as a registered dietitian. Dede was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Binghamton. Prior to moving to Luther Crest, she was employed as a bookkeeper and assistant shopkeeper at the Galleria shops in Binghamton. She spent many years volunteering at the Binghamton General Hospital Gift Shop and as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Dede was also a member of the Binghamton Junior League. Dede enjoyed gardening over the years, spending many wonderful days at the garden picking bushels of cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, and zucchini. She blessed her family with her quarts of spaghetti sauce, bread and butter pickles, and zucchini bread. No family gathering was complete without a delicious supply of deer browse to snack on or homemade spiedies. She was predeceased by her husband, William Burton Sr.; her parents, Wilbur Sheffer Foresman and Evelyn Bond Foresman. Survivors: She is survived by her six children, Pamela Mattes (William) of Poolesville, MD and her son, Andrew, wife, Seven, daughter, Emily, and son, Peter, Karen Layfield (Charles) of Allentown, PA and their children, son C. Gordon Jr., wife, Melissa, and daughter, Addyson, Erika, husband Francis, and Hannah, William Moore Jr. (Barbara) of Victor, NY and his children, daughters, Katherine and Jessica, Deb Beazley (Peter) of Morgantown, WV, and her children, daughter, Samantha and son, Nicholas, and stepchildren, Elizabeth, Katherine, and Christine, Sarah McKeever (Michael) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and son, Michael Jr., and Martha McShane (Paul) of Coto de Caza, CA and children, Abigael, Maureen, and Killian; sisters, Susan Foresman of Arlington, VA and Nancy Patton of Memphis, TN; and many special dear friends.
