Deborah J. Conard
Deborah J. Conard, 60, died unexpectedly at her home in Allentown on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Born on March 21, 1952, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Georgia Conard, lately of Kennett Square. She was proud of her Pennsylvania Quaker heritage, her forebearers having arrived on the ship Concord in 1683. Deborahs childhood was spent in Ann Arbor, MI, where her father was on the University of Michigan
law school faculty. She graduated from Grinnell College in 1974 with a degree in biology. In December, 1974, she married David Rosenwasser of Alexandria, Virginia. She moved to Allentown in 1985 when David joined the faculty of Muhlenberg College. Her daughter, Elizabeth, was born in 1991. Deborah was an expert gardener, flautist, bird watcher, dog-lover, and hiker. She enjoyed visiting family in northern Michigan each summer to hike, canoe, and sail. In 2011 she satisfied a life-long wish to visit Alaska. She was Treasurer of the Muhlenberg College Womens Auxiliary. Survivors:
Deborah is survived by her husband, David Rosenwasser; and her daughter, Elizabeth Conard Rosenwasser, a senior at George Washington University. She also leaves behind her sister, Joy Conard Hayes; and brother-in-law, Randall Hayes of Midland, Michigan; and her niece, Rebecca Hayes of Normal, Illinois. Services:
