Donald A. Dougherty, 85, of Quakertown died September 18, 2013 in Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown. He was the husband of Ina Marita (Wiedenbeck) Dougherty. They would have been married 53 years on October 14, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis T. and Ella (Cooper) Dougherty. He retired in 1994 from the Bucks County Sheriffs Department Aviation Unit where he served as a deputy sheriff pilot. In addition to that, he was a part time police chief
for the former Trumbauersville Police Department. Donald was a member of the Forrest Lodge VFW
, the Hellertown Legion, the Fraternal Order of Police, and a member of the former Quakertown Moose. He was an U.S. Army
veteran, serving during WW II and the Korean War
In addition to his wife; he is survived by a son, Mario Dougherty; three daughters, Petra C. Sloyer and her husband, Roger, Cindy Lou Meyers and her husband, Dennis, Marina L. Donohue and her husband, Thomas; two brothers, Joseph Weaver and Dennis Dougherty; two sisters, Pat Stauffer and Joan Stevenson; six grandchildren, Tonya Schan, Shane Stitt, Keenan Miller, Blake Kuntz, Elliot Sloyer, and Tommy Donohue; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Schan, Anthony Schan, Gavin Miller. Predeceased by two brothers, Henry Weaver and Frank Dougherty. Services:
