Doris E. Barley, 87, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2013 at Manor Care in Allentown where she had resided for over 10 years. The wife of the late Edward A. Barley. Doris was born in Easton, daughter of the late Martin A. and Margaret (Shaffer Carl) Schulte. Doris was a member of Grace UCC in Allentown, volunteering on several committees providing outreach to shut-ins. She was a cafeteria worker for the Allentown School District at South Mountain and Jefferson Elementary Schools. Prior to this she worked at General Cigar Factory as a wrapper and was a sewer at various manufacturing companies in Allentown. While a resident at Manor Care Doris was a volunteer greeter, Chief Bingo Caller and an avid Phillies fan. Survivors: Daughter, Gloria E. Roth, wife of Edward W. Roth of Allentown; son, Dennis E. Barley, husband of Patti-Mae of Slatington; three grandchildren, Michael Roth of Beauford, GA, David Roth, husband of Kimberly of Allentown and Rebecca Lynn Barley of Slatington; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Joshua Roth of Allentown. Predeceased by a brother, Tech Sgt. Martin H. Schulte. Services: Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Sell-Herron Funeral Home, 1145 Lehigh Street, Allentown. Viewing 10 to 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to the Reverend C. Harry and Helen E.
