Earl Rice, Jr.
Earl C. Mike Rice, Jr., 67 years and a resident of Fullerton, Whitehall Twp., passed away suddenly on Friday evening, April 5, 2013 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. Born in Allentown to the late Earl C. and Gladys (Fatzinger) Rice, Sr., he was the husband of Barbara J. Sue (Fehnel) Rice for 46 years. Mike was a member of the former Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schoenersville, where he served on Church Council and was their Sexton. He proudly served in the US Army stationed in Korea, and returned home to work at Phoenix Forging of Catasauqua for over 42 years in the shipping department, retiring in January 2012. He was a part time Catasauqua Police Officer
from 1969 to 1975. Survivors:
besides his wife Sue; daughter Kathleen J. Lohr and her husband John of Patuxent River, MD; sons Michael J. and Greg E. and his wife Christine, all of Whitehall, Jeffrey R. of Red Hill; grandchildren Kathleen, Jennifer, Ashley, Courtney, Michael, John Earl and Tyler; great-grandchildren Lexis, Joseph, Nicholas, Kylie and Olivia; sisters Esther Hunsicker and her husband Glen of Catasauqua, Debra Smith of Allentown, Donna Dorsey of Catasauqua; brothers Richard and his wife Rosemarie of Catasauqua, Donald of West Palm Beach, FL; predeceased by brothers Wayne and David. Services:
Visitation with his family will begin at 10:00 am with services at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 10, 2013 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd, Whitehall, located 1 block south of the Fullerton Ave. exit of Route 22. Interment will follow in Schoenersville Cemetery. Contributions:
