Earnest C. Riegel
Earnest C. Riegel, 81, of Albany Township, died January 7, 2013 in his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anna B. (Michak) Riegel. They were married October 18, 1952. Born in Kempton, he was a son of the late Clarence T., and Mabel (Sterner) Riegel. He was Lutheran. Mr. Riegel was a U.S. Army
veteran, serving in the Korean War
. He was a 1949 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Mr. Riegel was a self-employed master electrician for 15 years, retiring in 1994. He was also employed by the former Donmoyer Electric, Allentown, for many years, and a lifetime self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Kempton Lions Club, where he was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship and Bing Miller Awards, Kempton Rod and Gun Club, and the Kempton Fire Company. Survivors:
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Anna May (Riegel), widow of Roy R. Heffner, Hamburg; son, David E., husband of Mabel L. (Burkert) Riegel, Kempton; sister, Gladys (Riegel), wife of Robert Leibold, Mertztown; grandchildren, Barbara (Heffner) Schroeder, Michelle (Heffner) Yoder, Matthew E. Riegel, Sr., Molly (Riegel) Kelley, Emily Riegel, Abby Riegel; and great-grandchildren, Matthew E. Riegel, Jr., Jacob Schroeder, Mabel Kelley, Ellie Schroeder, and Chloe Yoder. He was predeceased by a brother, Russell Riegel in 2007. Services:
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating.
