Elton T. Long, 84, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, April 5, 2014. He was born in Bethlehem, son of the late Ralph and Florence (Greene) Long. He was the husband of MaryAnn (Kereczman) Long, they were married 56 years. Elton was an electrician employed by the Bethlehem Steel, retiring after 33 years. He was a proud U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Hellertown American Legion and a parishioner of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his: wife, MaryAnn; sons, Thomas and wife, Kathleen, Michael and wife, Laura; daughter, Kathleen Schlegel and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Jesse, Shane, Ryan and Amy Long, Nicholas and Allison Schlegel; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-mom, Marsha (Bright) Long; and sisters, Arlene Long, Beatrice Stocker and Mildred Miltenberger. Services: Viewing hours will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem on Tuesday April 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. with Panachida at 9 a.m. A 10 a.m. Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Dr., Bethlehem. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
