Elwood G. Anthony

Anthony, Elwood G.Elwood G. Anthony, 95, formerly of Allentown, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of Lorraine L. (Champagne) Anthony. They were married 57 years. Born in Wilkes Barre, he was the youngest and last surviving child of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Lewis) Anthony. Elwood was a graduate of Meyers High School in Wilkes Barre. Elwood was an office manager for Dugan & Marcon for 19 years. Elwood was also the owner of Elwood G. Anthony Flags for 48 years before retiring in 2008. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star. He was a member of American Legion Post #576, Allentown. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Allentown, where he was a member of the Official Board of the Church for 38 years. He was also a past president of the Allentown Flag Day Assoc. Survivors: Wife, Lorraine. Elwood is also survived by nieces and nephews. Services: 10:30 am Thursday in the Zentz Community Center in the Villa at Fellowship Manor, 3000 Fellowship Dr., Whitehall 18052. Call 9:30 - 10:30 am Thursday in the Zentz Community Center.
