Erma L. Buck
Erma L. Buck, 94, formerly of Bethlehem, died January 24, 2013, in Manatawny Manor, Pottstown, where she was a resident since June 2005. Born in Greenwich Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late George R. and Minnie E. (Bachman) Buck. Erma was a member of Church of the Manger United Church of Christ, Bethlehem. She was a 1936 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and attended Allentown Business School. She worked in the office of the former Topton Rug Mill and the Long Valley Rug Mill, Mertztown for 17 years. She worked for construction engineers in New York City and later in the Architectural Engineering Department of Bethlehem Steel Corporation until her retirement in 1983. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7071, Mertztown, where she previously served as president, secretary and treasurer. Survivors: Nieces, Nancy L. (Buck) Erb, Boyertown, Linda (Buck) Behler, Kempton, Allegra (Buck) Himmelberger, Blandon, Carol (Buck) Fenstermacher, Mertztown, and Bernetta (Buck) Fies, Blandon; nephews, Philip A. Lowe, Leominster, MA, and Norman H. Buck, Jr., Mertztown. She was predeceased by a sister, Verna (Buck) Lowe; and brothers, Norman H., George J., Lester C., and Lawrence G. Buck. Services: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013, 10:30 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Sharon Solt Joseph officiating.
