Frank J. Wilk Sr., 88, of Hellertown died Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Bernice M. (Karabin) Wilk. Born in Lower Saucon Twp. on March 9, 1925 to the late John Wilk and Mary (Zawodski) Wilk, Frank served our country faithfully in the US Army during WWII. He worked in the Coke Oven Division of the Bethlehem Steel as a foreman from 1946 to 1982. He was a member of Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown, Holy Name Society, Board of Director of the Hellertown Lions Club, Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, VFW Post 3094, Hellertown, National Sokol Society, former member of the Silver Creek Club, Hellertown. Frank was an avid golfer and bowler. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 64 years; children, Frank J. Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Lewes, DE, Nancy S. Wilk of Bethlehem, Janice McKellin of Hellertown; grandchildren, Stefanie, Matthew, Frank, Dawn, Abby, Pam, Sara; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Rory, Cecily, Hailey, Alexa. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 9 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. The Rev. Jerome A. Tauber will be the celebrant at the Mass.
