Gavin Lee Krum
Gavin Lee Krum, 14, of Lehighton, lost his battle of fighting complications brought about from his recently-diagnosed Leukemia in the very early hours in the morning of Tuesday, November 27, 2012. This courageous and determined young man had been an intensive care patient in the Penn State Hershey Childrens Hospital for many weeks leading up to his untimely death. Gavins short life was very full and offered all of those he touched much joy, love, and compassion. Born on April 9, 1998, he is the son of David and Lora (Long) Krum, and was an eighth grade student at Lehighton Area Middle School. Gavin was a percussionist in the middle school band, as well as a member of the middle school chorus. In addition, he was on the Junior Bowling League at Fritzs Lanes in Lehighton, was involved with the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band, a member of Zion Opera Workshop, and Zion United Church of Christ, where he had been involved in the junior choir and bell choir as well. All who knew Gavin are aware of his tremendous interest and knowledge in Transformers, which includes a huge collection of action figures, movies, and facts. He was always enthusiastic in explaining and exposing others to all he knew about them.
Gavins loving personality and sense of humor will be terribly missed by all who knew and love him. Survivors:
In addition to his parents, Gavin is survived by his grandparents, Shirley (Higgins) and Henry Long; aunts and uncles, Henry (Long) Jr. and wife, Sally, Eric (Long) and wife, Linda, Linda (Long) Muffley and husband, Mike, Kevin (Long) and companion, Carolyn, and Lauren (Krum) Tertocha and husband, Jim; as well as many loving and close cousins.
