Gerald A. Landis, 86, of Bethlehem, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at VNA Hospice of St. Lukes, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Clara M. (Dotter). Born in Bethlehem on July 3, 1926 to the late John K.B. and Florence (Fehnel) Landis. He was a 1944 graduate of Liberty High School. Gerald served our country faithfully in the US Navy during WWII, serving aboard the USS Drew in the Philippines and Okinawa and aboard the USS Little Rock in Europe during the Cold War. He worked in the mechanical department of Acme Markets for 28 years and later he worked in plant maintenance at Country Miss, Inc. - Stockertown for eight years. Gerald was a lifelong Phillies fan and enjoyed working around the house during retirement. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife; son, Kerry Landis of Hellertown; sister, Barbara Mehoe of Charlottesville, VA; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Landis; and brother, Harold. Services: Private at the convenience of the family.
