Gladys M. Pryor, 86, of Macungie, died December 13, 2013 in her home. She was the widow of John A. Pryor. Born in Jeanette, PA she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Caroline (Rudy) DeWalt. Gladys and her late husband of 60 years, John, both graduated from Jeanette High School and were married in 1948 after John graduated from Penn State University. John and Gladys moved to Emmaus in 1962 and had been residents of the area ever since. Through the years Gladys was a wonderful mother and homemaker to her five children and gave everything of herself to make her family as healthy, comfortable, and worry free as possible. In addition to being a homemaker, Gladys volunteered for many years at Cedarbrook and was a long time member of the Womens Club of Emmaus, Emmaus Newcomers Club, and Lower Macungie Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and cooking for her family. Most of all Gladys will be remembered for her caring personality to everyone she came into contact with. Survivors: Son, John A. Pryor, Jr. of Lebanon; daughters, Judith wife of Michael Florey of Sarasota, FL, Deborah Kooker of Breinigsville, Susan wife of Paul Fries of Emmaus, and Patricia Pryor of Allentown; grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Lowrie, Adam Kooker, Alayna and Allison Fries, Elizabeth Elison, A. Philip, Ian, and Sarah Roth, and Loran and Cori Pryor; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Adeline Lowrie, Beatrice and Ian Lowrie, Chase and Olivia Elison. She was predeceased by brother, John Harkabusic; sister, Lillian Troglio; son-in-laws, John Kooker and Bill Lowrie; daughter-in-law, Ginger Pryor. Services: Funeral Service Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery.
