Herman H. Rupp
Herman H. Rupp, 91 years, of Fogelsville, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of the late Gladys L. (Ziegler) Rupp. Born in Weisenberg Twp., he was a son of the late Andrew G. and Verna I. (Sechler) Rupp Madeira. Retiring in 1984, he had been employed as a maintenance mechanic for Air Products in Trexlertown for 27 years. He also worked for the former Eastern States Farmers Exchange in Ironton. He honorably served his country in the Army as a sergeant during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a charter member of the VFW Post 8282 in Breinigsville. Herman was Captain of Drivers and firefighter for the Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Co. for 27 years. He also served as trustee and on the House Committee of the fire company and was a member of Lehigh Co. Fire Association. Herman was past president of Fogelsville Senior Citizens. He was past president and vice president of Okome Conservation of Lycoming Co. He was a member of St. Johns U.C.C. in Fogelsville. Survivors: Son, Roger H. at home; brother, Frederick of Allentown; sisters, Carolyn Rauch of Emmaus and Goldie Ritter of Cetronia; nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ira; and sisters, Leah Ziegler, Mildred Rodenbach, and Margaret Sassaman. Services: Graveside services 11:15 a.m., on Monday, November 18, at Fogelsville Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville.
