Howard E. Strohl
Howard E. Strohl, 87, of Lehigh Township, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at his residence. He was the husband of Kathryn P. (Borger) Strohl with whom he shared 66 years of marriage on July 17th. Born in Lehighton on April 07, 1926, he was a son of the late John J. and Lillie (Green) Strohl. Howard honorably served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a carpenter and cabinetmaker for more than 40 years, before retiring from Muhlenberg College where he served as the Shop Foreman for 22 years. Howard was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville, and a member of the Oplinger-Hower American Legion Post #899, Danielsville. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Kathryn, he is survived by his daughter, Linda L. Sidor and her husband, Thomas of Cherryville; grandchildren, Thomas Sidor and his wife, Cici of Raleigh, NC and Jillian Powers and her husband, Jeffrey of Apex, NC; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fifteen siblings. Services: Will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, PA 18035. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the New Hope Cemetery at Little Moore, Danielsville. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc., Moorestown - Bath. Contributions: May be made in memory of Howard to the Memorial Fund of the Hope Lutheran Church.
