James Bruckart

Rev. James Bruckart
Rev. James O. Bruckart of The Evergreens, Moorestown, NJ, age 87 years passed away June 19, 2013 at Virtua Hospital, Mount Holly. Rev. Bruckart was a native of Lancaster, PA and a graduate of Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary, Bethelehem, PA. He was ordained a deacon of the Moravian Church on September 11, 1949 and consecrated a presbyter on September 6, 1955. He was married to Thelma Landis who served with him at Moravian Churches in Reading, 1949-1955; Riverside, NJ, 1955-1965; Calvary, Allentown, 1965-1970; College Hill, Bethlehem, 1970-1975 and Ghadenhutten, OH, 1975-1981. Thelma Bruckart entered the more immediate presence to be with her Lord in 1980. Rev. Bruckart served his last pastorate at Battlehill, Union, NJ 1981-1988 during this time he married Colleen J Workman. Rev. Bruckart served the Moravian Church in a number of other areas, - recording secretary of a number of Districts and Provincial Synods, the District Christian Education Commission, Director of Conferences at Camp Hope, NJ and in Ohio. Rev. Bruckart was a member of Beverly-Riverside Masonic Lodge #107 F & AM, Riverside. He also was a very active member of the Rotary International for many years and the Cinnaminson Community Chorus. All his life Jim was a very active member with many Church Choirs. Survivors: Beloved husband of Colleen J. ( Nee Workan) of 32 years, Dear Father of Karen B. Naisby and husband Henry (Hank) of Coopersburg, Pa and Rev. Richard L. Bruckart and wife Jill of Riverside; devoted grandfather of Brian Naisby, Timothy Naisby, Rachel Bailey and husband Joshua and Allison Lauderman and husband Brian; great-grandfather of Daniel Bailey; and brother of Mary Lilly. Services: Relatives and friends of Rev. Bruckarts family are invited to his viewing and visitation 3-5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the First Moravian Church, Corner of Bridgeboro and Washington Sts., Riverside where his Funeral Service will be held at 5 p.m. with his son Rev Richard Bruckart Officiating. There will be a light supper immediately following at Hahle Hall. Family and friends will gather 9:30 a.m. Monday morning at The First Moravian Church and then proceed to Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130 N, Cinnaminson for a graveside service and burial at 10 a.m. Arrangements by The Lankenau Funeral Home, 303-305 Bridgeboro St., Riverside.
