John J. Dougherty
LCpl. John J. Dougherty, 19, of Shoemakersville, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 in his residence. Born in Livingston, NJ, he was the son of John T. Doughterty, Shoemakersville; and Susan J. (Hettrick) Dougherty, Reading. He was a 2011 graduate of Northampton High School. John was enlisted in the Selected Marine Corps Reserves. He worked for Subway and Louees Pizza in Hamburg. John enjoyed sports and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors: Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Cpl. Conor P. Dougherty, and LCpl. Kyle M. Dougherty, both stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC; and two sisters, Deborah L. Dougherty, Lexington, VA, and Kelly A. Dougherty, New City, NY. John is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Barbara A. Dougherty, North Plainfield, NJ; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services: Will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear).
