John R. Hassick, Sr.
John R. Hassick, Sr., 79, of Bethlehem, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Isabel (Cowan) Hassick for 21 years.He was employed as a bricklayer in the tri-state area before retiring. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War. Born in Freemansburg, he was a son of the late John and Wilma (Stein) Hassick. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Marlene Hutchinson and her husband Robert of Manassas, VA, Darlene Peet and her husband James of Atlanta, GA and Charlene Hassick of Reston, VA; son, John R. Hassick, Jr. of Bluemont, VA; brother, Richard Hassick of Bethlehem; and step-son, Stephen Watty of Bethlehem; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Roger. Services: Will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 13, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by burial in Morgenland Cemetery. Family and friends may call 10:30 a.m. Saturday until service time.
