John J. Poukish, Jr.
John J. Poukish, Jr., 82, of Bethlehem, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, surrounded by his loving family in St. Lukes Hospital. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Mascio) Poukish. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in February. Born in Williamsport, he was a son of the late John J. Sr. and Helen (Stoviak) Poukish. John received both bachelors and masters degrees from Penn State, and an additional masters degree from New York University. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as an electrical engineer at Bell Laboratories for 32 years before retiring in 1992 as supervisor. John was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: Wife, Rose; sons, John, III of Lebanon, PA and Roy of Charlestown, IN; daughters, Susan Metz of Middletown, NJ and Elaine Poukish of Dallas, PA; brother, Philip of Yuba City, CA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem. Family and friends may call 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday.
