Joseph Maslany

Joseph Maslany, 87, of Sewell, NJ, formerly of Catasauqua, PA, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Cardinal Village Retirement Community in Sewell, NJ. Joseph was the husband of the late Jeanette I. (Bartholomew) who died December 2007. Born in Northampton, PA, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (Petrosky) Maslany. Joseph was a Sheet Metal Fabricator for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp.-Homer Research Lab for over 30 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Northampton, PA. He was also a member of the former Northampton Senior Mens Club and its Dart League for many years. Joseph served his country as a Merchant Marine during WWII. Survivors: Daughter, Lynn D., wife of Joseph Jordan of Williamstown, NJ; son, Joseph M. Maslany and wife Jean of Catasauqua, PA; four grandchildren, Erin, Michael, Meghan and Cory; and three great-grandchildren. Services: Are scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067 where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the services. Rev. Sara Lilja will officiate the services. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Allen Union Cemetery Association in Northampton, PA.
