Joseph S. Polakovich
Joseph S. Polakovich, 74, of Hanover Township, died, Monday, December 16, 2013, at Muhlenberg Hospital, Bethlehem. Born July 29, 1939 in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Josephine M. (Hansut) Polakovich. He and his wife, Patricia A. (Lahuta) Polakovich were married on April 8, 1967. He was a Line Mechanic for Mack Truck, Inc. for 31 years before retiring in 1997. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam. During his time in the service he served on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. He was a member of the Hungarian Hall, Northampton and the TPA. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed woodworking and Nascar. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors: In addition to his wife he is survived by: daughters, Regina wife of Chris Lilly, Paula Polakovich and Matz Bernhard Alicia wife of Sean Deppe, Krista Kresh and Steve Jones; son, Joseph W. and wife Jenn Polakovich; sister, Shirley Lendl; grandchildren, Janelle Bacskai, Tyler Lilly, Payton Jones and Natalie Jones; great-granddaughter, Olivia. Services: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service on Friday, December 20, 2013, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peaceable Kingdom in care of the funeral home.
