Leon L. Meitzler, 62 of Alburtis passed away suddenly on Saturday evening, October, 19. Born in Weisenberg Township he was the son of the late George F. and Margaret A. (Geist) Meitzler.Leon was a professional truck driver currently employed by Wolf Distribution, Allentown. Previously he worked for Packaging Corporation of America, Trexlertown for over 30 years. He was a combat engineer serving in Vietnam during the conflict from 1970 to 1972.Leon was a life member and trustee of the Robert M. Fegely V.F.W Post 8282 in Breinigsville. He was an antique tractor enthusiast and member of the Old Time Plow Boys, Kutztown. Leon was a dedicated volunteer at numerous local volunteer fire company social functions for many years. He attended Northwestern Lehigh High School and loved the outdoors. Survivors: Daughters, Denise M. wife of Chris Belnoski, Orefield, Bonnie S. wife of James Reppert, Macungie and Lucinda L. wife of Steven Miller, Blandon; brother, Kermit Derr, Alburtis; and sister, Ferne Arnold, Topton; grandchildren Randy, Dean and Sami; Leons best friend, Jan Wentz of Germansville. He was recently predeceased by brother, Carl; and sister, Mary Lou Zettlemoyer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Rd., Breinigsville with Reverend Candi L. Cain-Borgman presiding.
