Lucille H. Pleiss, 86, of Lower Saucon Township, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 in her home with her family by her side. She and her husband, Richard E. Pleiss, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in April. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Jane (OConnell) Hilaire. Lucille was a 1943 graduate of Liberty High School and was Valedictorian of St. Lukes School of Nursing Class of 1949. She worked as the head nurse at Lehigh University for 30 years. Lucille was a member of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Colesville. She was also an avid Bridge player at the Bethlehem Club. Survivors: Son, Richard Pleiss, Jr. of Seattle, WA; daughter, Nancy Tyson of Orefield; grandsons, Michael and Thomas Tyson; granddaughter, Abigail Pleiss; sisters, Jane Coleman of Las Vegas, NV, Anne Tallarico of Bethlehem, Rita Downey of Hellertown and Catherine Thompson of Fredericksburg, VA. Lucille was preceded in death by brothers, Vince and Phillip Hilaire; and a sister, Marie Holland. Services: Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, 18015.
