Mary L. Gahagan , 84, of Bethlehem, formerly of Jeter Ave., Fountain Hill, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the husband of the late James P. Gahagan, Jr., who died in 1991. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Grant J. and Mary (Kuronya) Wert, Sr. Mary was a licensed public accountant working with her husband in private practice from 1976 until retiring in 1981. She was previously a front end manager at the former Food Fair. She was a member of St. Ursulas R.C. Church, Fountain Hill. Survivors: Daughter, Maureen OConnell and her husband Richard of Bethlehem; sisters, Agnes Adler of Bethlehem and Joan Beck and her husband Thomas of Allentown; and granddaughters, Kelsey and Nicole OConnell, both of Bethlehem, Mariah Gahagan of Dayton, OH and Lily Gahagan of San Francisco, CA. She was predeceased by a step-son, James P. Gahagan, III; brother, Grant J. Wert, Jr.; and sisters, Patricia Borland and Virginia Van Blargan. Services: Monday, January 7, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden St., Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in St. Annes R.C. Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem. Family and friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 12 to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
