Norman L. Carl

Carl, Norman L.Norman L. Carl, 93, of Hellertown, died Thursday, May 1, 2014. Before moving to Hellertown, he was a life long resident of Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Mary (DeFrancisco) who died Jan. 4, 1975, and Anna (Krasulak) Carl, who died Oct. 27, 2010. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Samuel and Eva (Young) Carl. He was a 1938 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. He honorably served his country in the US Navy, durning WWII. He worked in the #2 machine shop for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., for 35 1/2 years, until retiring in 1975. Norm was a member of Trinity UCC in Bethlehem. He was also a member of NRA, Fountain Hill American Legion where he was one of the first members, Fountain Hill Hose Co., and Republican Club, life member of Steel City and Guthsville Rod and Gun Clubs, and Se-Wy-Co. Norm was a craftsman, amateur photographer, painter, and enjoyed traveling. He especially loved riding his horse Molly. Survivors: son John Carl and his wife Susan; daughter Norma Jean Antonelli and husband Harry all of Bethlehem; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Verna Sprague. Services: 11am Monday May 5, 2014 at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10-11am.
