Paul A. Lutz
Paul A. Lutz, 93, of Allentown, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of the late Margaret L. (Seaman) Lutz. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ruth (Acker) Lutz. Before retiring in 1985, he worked for 12 years at Hill Metal Company and prior for 40 years for the family business of LA Acker Sheet Metal and Roofing both in Allentown. He was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown. A veteran of the US Navy during WWII, he served from 1942 until 1945, of which during this time he was a plank owner, an individual who was a member of the crew of a ship when that ship was placed in commission, of the USS South Dakota, (BB-57), one of the most decorated ships with 13 battle stars. He was a charter member of the VFW #2124, Allentown. Survivors: Son, Thomas M. and his wife, Dorothy, of Allentown; daughter, Jane C. and her husband, William Undercuffler, of Nazareth; sisters, Doris Wagner of Port Charlotte, FL, Nancy Lutz of Lancaster, CO; grandson, Brian Undercuffler and his wife, Laura; and great-granddaughter, Madison. He was predeceased by sisters, Frances Bernhardt, Grace Behler. Services: 2 p.m., Friday, September 13, at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown.
