Perry F. Shelton, 66, of 227 W. Holland St., Summit Hill passed away on October 11, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Barbara (Sniscak) Shelton of Summit Hill. They would have celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary this October 23. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Charles Shelton and Gloria (Feather) Shelton of Summit Hill. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School, Class of 1965. Perry served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam on the USS Mars Supply Ship. He worked for UPS for 35 years, serving as a Shop Steward for 20 years. He was an Agent for Teamsters Business, Local 773. He was a member of the Summit Hill American Legion Post 316, a Life Member of the VFW and a life member and former Commander of the Lansford Amvets Post 83. Perry was a past president of the Summit Hill Ambulance Corp., the first President of SHORE, Summit Hill Offers Recreational Enjoyment, which established the Bill Black Memorial Park, and was a former Assistant Secretary & Treasurer for the Summit Hill Water Company. He was a member of the Diligence Fire Co. #1 of Summit Hill, a member of the Jeffersonia Democratic Club and had the honor of serving as the Grand Marshall for the Summit Hill Memorial Day Parade in 2011. Perry was very involved in the Summit Hill Little League having served for over 40 years as a former Coach, President and Member of the Little League Board. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Summit Hill. Survivors: Surviving along with his wife and mother; are two sons, Perry Shelton, Jr. of Summit Hill and Jamie Shelton and his wife JoLynn (Hutta) of Summit Hill; two grandsons, Jacob and Joshua; brothers, Phillip Shelton and his wife Mary Helen of Summit Hill and Payne Shelton; sisters, Pamela Kane and her husband Ed of Summit Hill and Penny Shelton of Summit Hill; many nieces and nephews. Services: Funeral Service is on Monday, October 14, 2013, at 1 p.m. from the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell Street, Summit Hill with the Rev. Walter Breiner officiating. Military Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, White Bear, Summit Hill. Calling Hours are on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. and Monday morning from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
