Raymond W. Ditzel
Raymond W. Ditzel, 88, of Towamensing Township, formerly of Irvington, NJ died unexpectedly January 13 in his home. He was the husband of Irene (Barno) Ditzel. They were married for 64 years last June. Ray worked as a tool and dye maker for C.S. Osborne in Harrison, NJ for 40 years until retiring. During WWII, he served in the Pacific Theater as a sergeant in the 1702nd Aviation Signal Company. Ray was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville, a past Worshipful Master (1976) and past Instructors Committee chairman of F&AM Vehslage Lodge #225, and a past leader of Boy Scout Troop 216, both in Irvington. Born in Newark, NJ he was a son of the late Elmer and Evelyn (White) Ditzel. Survivors: Wife; son, Ronald and wife Susan; grandsons, Daniel and Douglas Ditzel; granddaughter, Lauren Ditzel, all of Wayne, NJ; brother, Edward and wife Ginny of Roselle Park, NJ.
