Richard W. Hosler
Richard W. Hosler, 88, of Bethlehem, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013, in St. Lukes Hospice House. He was the husband of Doris M. (Snyder) Hosler for 63 years. Born in Mechanicsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Morris Hosler and Anna (Beheney) Coover. Richard was a meteorologist with the National Weather Service for 35 years before retiring. After retirement he worked at True Value Hardware, Allentown. He served in the Army
Air Corps during both World War II
and the Korean War
. An active member of Rosemont Lutheran Church, he had served as usher, counter, communion assistant, member of the audit committee and property committee chair. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 379, Bethlehem Area Mora Club and National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. Survivors:
Wife, Doris; daughter, Donna Mallard of Bethlehem; son, David and his wife, Nancy, of Raubsville; grandchildren, Richard, Laura, Meaghan, David, Jr. and Katie; and a great-granddaughter, Amelia. He was predeceased by a daughter, Debbie Sweeney, in 2001. Services:
11 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, in Rosemont Lutheran Church, 1705 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018, followed by entombment in Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, in the church. Arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Contributions:
