Harris, Robert Winston
Robert Winston Harris was born on December 21, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA to William Jackson Harris and Alma Irene Cooper Harris. In 1959, Robert graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School (Philadelphia, PA). He then entered the Air Force where he served as an Air Policeman
until he was honorably discharged in 1963. Following his military service, Robert was accepted into the Philadelphia Police Academy. He served as a police officer in the 39th District in Philadelphia until relocating to Coopersburg, PA in 1972. In 1974, Robert became a police officer in the Upper Saucon Township Police Department where he proudly served the community until his retirement in 1998. Robert attended Alvernia University (Reading, PA) where he studied Criminal Justice. Robert accepted Christ as his savior as a young child and rededicated his life at Bethany U.M.C (Wescosville, PA). Robert was an active member in the church's Senior Citizen Ministry. Robert was beloved by his wife, his children, grandchildren, and the many people that he touched throughout his life. Survivors: Wife, Toni Harris; Children, Brydie L. Harris, Michelle L. Sherman, Michael W. Harris and Andre W. Harris; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Sisters, Alma Kennedy, Ramona Reid, Vivian Chestang, Jeanette Sullivan, and Anne Harris. Robert was predeceased by his brothers, William Jackson Harris, Jr. and Edward Harris and his grandson, Ryan Michael Harris. Services: Memorial Services, 2pm, Friday April 11th at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1208 Brookside Rd., Wescosville. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
