Ruby J. Gavin, 74, of Nazareth, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Phoebe Richland Healthcare Center in Richlandtown, surrounded by her loving family. Ruby and her husband, Robert D. Gavin, would have celebrated fifty-five years of marriage on September 6. Born December 3, 1938, in Norton, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Lillian Mae (Lovell) Moore. Ruby worked as a bank teller for many years at the former Second National Bank of Nazareth. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth. Ruby honorably served her country in the United States Marine Corps and was a life member of the USMC League. Survivors: Husband, Robert D.; daughter, Deborah J. Hetrick, of Nazareth and her children, Meghan, wife of Michael Murante, and Sean Hall; daughter, Margaret R., wife of Wayne Westfield, of McKinney, TX and their children, David and Katie; daughter, Lisa G., wife of Scott Hoffman, of Nazareth and their children, Matthew and Kevin; son, Timothy R. Gavin, husband of Alissa, of Macungie, and their children, Jeremy, Madailein, Annabelle, Evelyn and Beverly; brothers, Johnny Burleson of Niles, OH and Tommy Burleson of Youngstown, OH; sister, Norma Elgabri of Youngstown, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 21, at 11 a.m., in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 410 West Center Street, Nazareth. Family and friends may call Wednesday, March 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 East 21st Street, Northampton, PA and on Thursday, before the Mass, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the Holy Family Catholic Church. The members of the USMC League will provide a Military Service for their fallen comrade.
