Stanley W. Smith, 86, of Allentown, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of Dorothy S. (Kline) Smith. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary last December 31. Born in Northampton, September 18, 1927, Stanley was the son of the late Victor T. and Clara P. (Hunsicker) Smith. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an Electricians Mate Second Class. Stanley graduated from Northampton High School, Class of 1945 and Muhlenberg College, Class of 1957. He was employed as a courtesy driver at Bennett Jaguar, in Allentown before retiring in 2008. Prior to that, he worked as an Engineer at the Borough of Macungie Water Department, Horsham Clinic in Ambler, HCSC Laundry Services in Allentown and the Atlas, Dragon and Coplay cement companies. Stanley was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Northampton where he formerly taught Sunday School and was a handbell choir member. Having a love for his family, he was proud to have organized the Hunsicker and Smith Family Reunions. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Dorothy; children, Kit L. Smith of Allentown, Mark C. Smith at home, Roderick D. Smith (Victoria) of Allentown, Holly M. Olenwine (Terry) and Rhonda J. Santilli (Gabriel) both of Schnecksville; brother, Willard Smith (Eleanor) of Poway, CA; sister, Eleanor Kovalchick (Eugene) of Catasauqua; grandchildren, Cody, Katrina, Marissa, Jared and Max; predeceased in death by a son, Collin C. Smith and brothers, Warren and LeRoy Smith. Services: Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Grace U.C.C. 902 Lincoln Avenue, Northampton, with the Rev. Heather N. Kurtz officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church. Interment will follow the service at Allen Union Cemetery, Northampton.
