Truman W. F. Bittenbender
Truman W. F. Bittenbender, 87, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. He was the husband of the late Naomi E. (Moser) Bittenbender, who died in 1994, and Mary Jane (Rush) Hausman Bittenbender, who died in 2011. Born in Nazareth, he was the son of the late Truman and Anna (Metz) Bittenbender. He was a graduate of Nazareth High School and attended Moravian College. Truman served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II
. He worked in the Gas and Combustion Monitoring Department at Bethlehem Steel for 40 years, until retiring in 1983. Truman was a member of Church of the Manger UCC, in Bethlehem and was a Mason. Survivors:
His children, Bruce L. Bittenbender and his wife, Susan, of St. Joseph, MI, Gail A. Fairchild, of Aston, PA, Denis D. Bittenbender and his companion, Angie Texter, of Bethlehem, Craig J. Bittenbender and his wife, Sandy, of Hummelstown, PA, and Jon P. Bittenbender and his wife, Patti, of Allentown; stepchildren, Louise D. Steager and her husband, Rick, and Dennis W. Hausman all of Orefield, Bruce A. Hausman and his wife, Tina, of Wescosville; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; and five stepgrandchildren. Sisters, Grace Roska and Bernadine Kunkle, died earlier. Services:
