Wayne W. Gamble, 66, of Salisbury Twp., died suddenly while on a cruise vacation October 4, 2013. Born June 22, 1947, he was a son of the late John and Laura (Hauber) Gamble. He and his wife, Linda (Neff), celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2013. He graduated from William Allen High School in 1966 and Temple University in 1979. Wayne was a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corp and served his country in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Prior to retiring in 2004, he was an electrical instructor at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute for 31 years and owned Wayne W. Gamble Electric for 40 years. He received the Outstanding Vocational Educator Award in 2001 and was a volunteer judge in electrical trades for Skills USA. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Lehigh Consistory and member of New Temple Lodge #720. Other memberships included the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, Fearless Fire Company, Unami Club, and VFW Post #7088, Emmaus. Wayne loved traveling, especially cruising, and died on his favorite island, Bermuda. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, and his grandsons were the light of his life. Survivors: Wife; son, John and wife, Elaine, Allentown; daughter, Angela Irwin, Salisbury Twp.; grandsons, Devin and Lucas Irwin; sister, Barbara Holzer, Allentown; aunt, Helen OHanlon, Philadelphia; mother-in-law, Ruth Zellner, Macungie; sister-in-law, Mary Gamble, Allentown; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ellen and Barry Miller, Macungie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Debbie Neff, Seattle, WA; nine nephews; 14 nieces. Brothers, John, Jr., Ronald, and Ellis; and sisters, Jacqueline Andrews and Phyllis, preceded him in death. Services: 12 p.m., Wednesday, in Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 1335-37 W.
