William J. Bumper Ehritz, 85, of Allentown passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Allentown. He was the husband of Eleanore A. (Sarmir) Ehritz, and they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past October 7. Born in Allentown, Bill was a son of the late Joseph and Aloise (Hirtenfelder) Ehrtiz. Bill worked as a custodian for 23 years for the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena Church and School prior to retiring in 1989. Before the Cathedral, he worked for the former Lehigh Structural Steel Co. in Allentown. Bill proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Allentown. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. Bill was a life member of the Harugari Club in Allentown. Survivors: Surviving with his wife, Eleanore are sons, William J. and his wife, Susan of Wescosville, and Jeffrey and his wife, Delinda in Phoenix, AZ; and a daughter, Jane M., wife of Douglas Eck in Hilton Head, SC. Bill is survived by his grandchildren, Carly, Gretchen, Emily, Maxwell; and his great-grandchildren, Jonas, Moses, and Penelope. Bill was predeceased by his brother, Joseph. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception. Calling will be from 9:45 to 10:45 am in the church. Arrangements entrusted to the ODonnell Funeral Home, Allentown.
