William H. Douthart, Jr., 93, of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, died late Wednesday evening, Jan 23, 2013, at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehab Ctr, Lehighton. He was the husband of Lillian B. (Booz) Douthart. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William H., Sr, and Edna Anna (Happ) Douthart. William worked as a mechanical design drafter and industrial contractor for RCA Corp., and US Naval Air Engineering Center, Lake Hurst, NJ, for over 40 yrs. He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church, Palmerton, volunteering as chalice bearer, and usher. He attended Lafayette College, and was a member of Delta Upsilon International Fraternity. A US Army Veteran of WWII and Korea, William participated in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre 3 Battle Stars, Philippine Liberation 2 Battle Stars, member Order of the Purple Heart, and Korean Service Medal, he achieved the rank of Captain. William was a 32nd Degree Mason, over 65 year member of Wm L. Elkins Lodge No. 271, F. & A. M., Philadelphia, and member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Trenton, NJ. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, coin collector, and family man, with high moral values. He will be greatly missed. Survivors: Wife, Lillian; daughter; Linda L. Douthart of Middletown, NY.; son, William H., III and wife Denise of Lehighton, PA; 6 grandchildren, Wm H. IV, Brittany, Emily, Chas, Eric, and Frank; 6 great grandchildren, Star, Izzy, Alyssa, Gavin, Lucis, and Charlette. He was predeceased by brother, Duane Duke E. Douthart.
