John S. Mokris
John S. Mokris, 68, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in his residence. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Elizabeth C. (Pecka) and Valent S. Mokris. John and his wife the former Barbara A. Hakiar shared 14 years of marriage this past August 8. John was a veteran of the Army and served in Korea. He was an electrician and was employed by R.J. Skelding for over 20 years. Survivors: Wife, Barbara; son, Christopher A. and his wife Sarah of South Whitehall Twp., step children; Thomas Molnar and wife Nicole of Chalfont, PA, Susan Harris and husband Brian of Allentown, sisters; Elaine Hakiar and husband Jim of Salisbury, Eleanor Baron and husband Walter of Salisbury, Rosella Mrazik and husband Robert of Whitehall; brothers, Joseph Mokris and wife Julie of Salisbury, Valent Mokris and wife Donna of Salisbury, Stephen Mokris of Allentown; granddaughters, Skylar and Paige Mokris, Morgan and Olivia Molnar. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 25, 2012 in St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church, 924 N. Front Street Allentown with Msgr. Robert Kozel as Celebrant. A viewing will be held from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc. 46 E. Susquehanna Street Allentown. Interment to follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park.

To The Mokris Family,

Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences on the loss of Butch - a man who truly enjoyed life and sharing it with those he loved and cared for. not only a great loss to the Mokris family but also a loss to the neighborhood and to the city as well, he was one of the old school good guys who did things because it was right, a great example for the kids now-a-days to follow. we can only hope that his influence remains

Butch was a good man and a great friend. I still remember all the fun we had bowling on Thursdays and all the good times we had together. So many laughs we share, I can't believe he's gone. He will be missed. Though I can't be there, my thoughts and prayers go with you all.
