Bernadette A. Houghton
Bernadette A. Houghton, 87, of Emmaus, formerly of Philadelphia, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in her home. She was the wife of Walter W. Houghton, whom she shared 64 years of marriage with. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Hudak) Fierko. She was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church in Emmaus. Survivors: Husband; daughters, Dr. Bernadette Houghton, of Columbia, SC, Loretta McCollough, and her husband, Thomas, of Tulsa, OK, and Anne Brady, and her husband, John, with whom she resided; brothers, Francis, Joseph and Edward Fierko; sister, Anne Marie Fierko; grandchildren, Allison, Lindsey, Meghan and J.W.; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen. Services: 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus, followed by Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., St. Anns Catholic Church, Emmaus. Call 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Contributions: May be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
