Donald Jaffe Obituary

Donald Jaffe, 86, of Emmaus, died at home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. His wife, Carol J. (Rodgers) Jaffe, died on August 9, 2013. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Paul and Frieda (Schall) Jaffe. Donald was a graduate of MIT earning his Bachelor of Science in 1952 and his Master's in 1953, and later received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in 1963. He was a 1st Lt in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Donald was an Engineering Manager for Bell Laboratories for many years until his retirement. He was active in the community as a former member of the Emmaus Rotary Club, treasurer of the Emmaus Shelter House, and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Donald was also a former Board Member of the Emmaus Board of Health and the East Penn School Board. Survivors: Children, Nancy Jaffe and her husband, Chris McCarthy, Rodger Jaffe, Jannah Jaffe, Richard Jaffe and his wife, Rebecca, and Atty. Robert Jaffe and his wife Catherine Lazarus; 14 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; and Brother, Julian Jaffe. Services: Were held at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
