I played ball with Ruth with a Pennridge team in the 70's. Also with the Reading Chystalettes in the World Tourament in Portland , Oregon. She was an excellent player and I feel privilege to have played and know of her. It was my honor to know and play softball with her. I recently saw and visited with her at a reunion of the Pennsburg Shamrocks.

Ruth was my aunt and I wish I knew her a little better than I did. When I visited PA I always looked forward to going down to see her. The house had so many memories for me. We used to go fishing at the dam across the street. We would catch minnows in the creek along side the house and use them as bait. I loved walking the land with Ruth remembering cookouts and games we use to play. I remember seeing a star that was atop a tall tree. It was there and lite for the christmas season, though that was before my time. Ruth would tell me stories about nana and papa and my dad who grew up there. She reminded me of my dad and being there made me feel closer to him. Now the house is sold and all i have are the memories, which is okay cuz i know she is at peace.
