Donald K. Heil, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, 85, of Macungie, died December 6, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the cherished husband of Marian M. (Hertzog) Heil, with whom he shared a loving and devoted marriage of 60 years. Born in Macungie, he was the son of the late James B. and Verna (Kerchner) Heil. Dutch was a truck driver for 42 years, driving for Allentown Modern Transfer and Roadway Express, retiring in 1993. He honorably served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a member of Solomons U.C.C., the Macungie VFW and the Macungie Fire Company. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Renae D. wife of Rev. Bruce Weaknecht of Egg Harbor, NJ and Denise M. wife of Bradley Ford of Canada; brothers, Harold Heil and wife Lorraine of Pennsburg, Jacob Heil and wife Myrle of Macungie, and James Heil of Egypt; sister, Dorothy wife of Herbert Rohrbach of Alburtis; grandchildren, Joshua D. Weaknecht and wife Carrie Ann, Dr. Marissa L. wife of Brice Ambron, Gretchen J. Weaknecht, Donald P. Ford and wife Kimberly, and Christopher B. Ford and wife Catherine; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Aaron Weaknecht. He was predeceased by his infant son; and sister, Lillian Heller. Services: Funeral Services Monday, December 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Solomons Union Cemetery, Macungie.
