Dear Erdosy Family: My sister sent me a copy of the obituary from the Morning Call (I live in Michigan). I am extending my condolences to John's wife Dale and family. I am so sorry to hear of John's death. My history with John goes back almost 60 years. I first met John when he was the "coach's son" in 1954. I attended NAJHS and was greatly touched by the Erdosy family. I graduated in 1958. I know that this is a very painful time for all of you. I pray that in this difficult time the Lord will bless you and keep you. That His face will shine upon you. And that He will give you peace. May your memories of him and his life continue to bring great joy to you. Rest in peace John, Rest in peace.

I was a colleague and taught with John at Northampton Jr.
His students respected him as well as all the staff.
John taught Health Class and made the subject come alive.

I just heard of John's passing. I'm sorry that I heard to late to attend the service. I have not seen him for quite some time, but I'm sure he was the same. I taught with John at Northampton Jr. High School. He was even one of the bartenders at my wedding reception. In spite of his physical problems (which he minimized), he was always smiling, joking, happy, and made others feel that way too. My condolences to his family. Heaven has happily received another great one!

Our condolences to the Erdosy Family from the Schneider Family. Personally, John was my hero as one of the "Touchdown Twins" with Mike Lisetski, Jr. Then later as my coach, teacher colleague, but most of all friend. God Bless you John and your family.

heather...i told you earlier today to read theses messages so i thought i'd add something. other than your dad convincing my boys he was a pirate (with his leg) and his cutting edge style (i'm referring of course to his suspenders), i will always remember quite fondly the day he took us to the hometown auction and out to eat at that little diner up in jim thorpe. like i told you earlier today...you are tough, just like your daddy...you'll get through this. i love you, girlie <3

To The Erdosy Family,
I am very sorry for your much too soon loss of John. Looking back to my 8th grade circa 1968/1969 at the old NHS JR High on Lincoln Ave.
I can remember the air of excitement caused when John came upon the scene.
The girls all wanted to know more about this handsome teacher , and the guys all wanted to lift weights so they could get muscles , and look like John.
This guy was a breath of fresh air as a teacher/coach. He had the ability to see things in a student/player that others would miss.
John didn't have to rule with an iron fist, and force you to do anything , he had the ability to have you wanting to do it for him, because of the way he treated you.
Intelligent , Fair , Honest , and to the point ,yes that was Johnnie Erdosy. I wish that more could have followed his lead!
To the family, May God comfort ,and hold you in the palm of his hand during you time of loss ,and sorrow.
To John, Keep calling them like you see them. Try to take it easy on the Angel wings. GODSPEED on your journey ! I'll see you after the game !

So sorry for your loss, deepest sympathy to the family. Mr. Erdosy was a legacy, a teacher worthy of the title of teacher. He made health class interesting and was always willing to explain or help if we didn't understand. He cared about his students, always had a funny quip and gave us a laugh. He had that John Denver grin! Thank you for taking the time and caring about us Mr. Erdosy. You were an influence on many of our lives. Teachers like you are a rare breed. God Bless and Rest in peace Sir!

I regret that I never got to know John very well, but his image will forever be etched in my memory. Nearly every Sunday morning, he'd arrive at church early to watch the music team practice before our first service. For 30-40 minutes, he'd sit in the sanctuary, smiling as we rehearsed. Rest in peace, John. I'm sure the music's even better where you are now.

The Erdosy Family, Please accept my most sincere sympathy with the passing of John. I met John in 1968 he had an office right next to mine in the Old Wolf School in the Boro of Northampton. Later we again became colleagues in the Junior HS. John was the coach of the Jr.High football team which was undefeated my first year in the Jr.High. He and I chatted many times over the years and I found him to be a very interesting conversationalist. As a teacher He was always prepared to meet his classes . He was innovative to say the least, and students responded to his style of teaching. It has been 20 years since I last talked with John, but I would hear bits and pieces about him over the years. Distance prevents me from attending his funeral. I will remember him in my prayers and may he RIP.

"Mr. Erdosy" was one of my most memorable teachers- I had him in Jr. High for Health and I also had him as an elementary school gym teacher, maybe even when he was doing his student teaching. I was a quiet student but he always made me feel like I was one of his favorites. My sympathies to his family and friends.

Mr. Erdosy was a young graduate when he came to Lehigh Township Elementary School to help with Phys Ed classes. I was a chubby little girl with absolutely no athletic ability and dreaded gym class. One day in gym class I burst into tears because I could not do an exercise the other children were doing with ease. The next challenge was a coordination exercise which I was able to do quite easily. Mr. Erdosy took me aside and remarked on how well I did. He told me that we all have different abilities and I would find that sometimes what seemed hard to others would be easy for me and vice versa. I have never forgetten that conversation because it was the only time, really, that a teacher took time to bolster my confidence. I am sure his kidness will be missed by all who knew him.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Mr. Erdosy. I will never forget when he made me roll gum with my nose across the floor and up into the garbage can in Health class. He was the greatest teacher. May he rest in peace.
