Deacon Joseph H. Pufko, age 65, of Nazareth PA, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was born in Phoenixville, PA a son of the late Joseph and Henrietta (Yoka) Pufko. Joseph was the husband of former Carol (Gondek) with whom he celebrated 37 years of marriage on October 4. He was currently serving as a permanent Deacon at St. Jane Frances De Chantal Catholic Church in Palmer Twp.; he previously served as a permanent Deacon for Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth PA, Our Lady of Good Council and St. Vincent DePaul, Bangor PA. Joseph served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He received his associates degree in general studies and graduated Cum Laude from Montgomery County Community College. Joseph was previously employed by Verizon Wireless as a Disaster Data Recovery and Data Security Manager. Prior to his employment with Verizon, he was employed by Smith Kline Bio Labs in King of Prussia. Joseph was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus council 345 member and also a 4th degree member of Pope Pius XII Assembly. He was a member of the Catholic Medical Association. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by a brother, Francis M. Pufko of Spring City, PA. Services: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas St., Palmer Twp., and again on Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the chapel of St. Jane Frances De Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday 11 a.m., in the Church. Interment will be in St. Catherine of Siena, Quarryville, PA.
