Thomas Snyder Obituary
Thomas J. Snyder, Sr., 89, formerly of Springfield Twp., died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He is the husband of the late Eleanor O. (ODonnell) Snyder who died January 25, 2001. Born in Fountain Hill on June 2, 1923 to the late Alfred and Minnie (Singer) Snyder. He served our country faithfully in the US Air Force during WWII. Thomas worked for the PA Liquor Control Board for 10 years as a clerk. Previously, he and his wife owned and operated the Ferndale Hotel for 26 years. He is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ottsville, Silver Creek AA, Beethoven Waldheim, Quakertown American Legion. Survivors: Loving sons, Craig J. of Kintnersville, Thomas J. Jr. and his wife Marlene of Ferndal; daughter-in-law, Joanne D. Snyder of Quakertown; grandchildren, Lori Hadley, Jennifer Snyder and Jeffrey A. Scheurer; two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by son, Gregory A. Services: Private Monday, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street-Hellertown. There will be no calling hours. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association.
