Anna Salvaterra
Anna Salvaterra, 95, of Hazleton passed away in Allentown on Sunday. Born in Shoemaker, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George and Amelia (Puhalo) Brankovich. Annas family lived in the Midwest and then Rhode Island before locating in Hazleton. She worked as a beautician and cared for her husband and mother at home. Anna was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hazleton until its closing and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Pino Salvaterra, brothers; George, Paul and Steve Brankovich and sisters; Helen Otterbine and Zori Vuckson. Survivors: are her sons; Charles and wife Denise, Macungie,PA and George and wife Barbara, Bellfonte, PA; grandchildren, Matthew and wife Jessica and Kelly Salvaterra; great grandchild Serafina; two sisters, Catherine Paisley, Hazleton and Emily Mussoline, Hershey. Services: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon from the Fierro Funeral Home, 26 W. Second St. Hazleton. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 11 am. until the time of the service. Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Memory Support Bridgeways Unit at Pheobe Nursing Center, 1925 Turner St., Allentown, 18104 would be appreciated.
