Austin Dunstan Obituary

Austin C. Dunstan
Austin Carle Bus Dunstan, 95, of Country Meadows, Allentown, died June 16, 2009, in his home surrounded by family and friends. He was the husband of the late Gladys (Buss) Dunstan and the late Geneva M. ( Smith ) Dunstan. Austin was a fireman with the Allentown Fire Department for 30 years until retiring in 1978. He also worked as an inspector and service man for Kistler Fire Protection in Allentown for many years. Born in Ashley, Pa, he was the son of the late Austin Carle Dunstan and Lillian Dunstan Carmichael. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Allentown. He was a WWII Navy Seabees Veteran. He served during WWII on Peleliu Island.He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a longtime member of Ranger Lake Rod and Gun Club. He also enjoyed spending time with family and watching sports on T.V., particularly High School basketball and the Yankees. Survivors: Son, William C. Dunstan and his wife, Carlette, of Allentown; stepson, David Groff of Center Valley; grandson, Scott C. Dunstan of Allentown; granddaughters, Kim Lilly of Allentown and Alyson Dunstan of Annville; great-grandchildren: Jared Lilly, Jenna Dunstan and Matthew Dunstan. Services: memorial, will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Monday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the church, 822 N. 19th St., Allentown, PA 18104.

i'am sorry to hear of your loss .i worked with bus for several years at kisler fire protection . i visited him only not often enough i lost contact with bus . he was a good friend .i will miss you BUS may god be with you your friend .
