Appel, Bettie R.Bettie R. Appel, 90, of B'nai B'rith in Allentown, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Phoebe Allentown. She was the widow of Edwin D. Appel. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Edgar I. and Bessie A. (Dotter) Mantz. Bettie was a care giver. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Allentown and the Mercantile Club in Emmaus. Bettie was also a member of the Clifford Park and Cetronia Senior Citizens. Survivors: Sons: David E. and his wife Jane of Allentown, Donald E. of Lubbock, TX; Daughter: Patricia R. Mugavero and her husband Thomas of Allentown; Grandchildren: Timothy, Gary, Suzanna, Scott, Daniel; Great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Steven, Christine, Nicholas, Morgan, Alyssa, Hannah, Ashlyn. Bettie was predeceased by her son Dennis E. and by sisters Joyce Snyder and Mildred Black. Services: 10 am Saturday, Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 1335-37 Linden St., Allentown.
