Bruce L. Hersh, 58, of Palmerton, passed away on the 8th day of December, 2012. His time on this earth was up and he passed into Gods gracious presence. He was the husband of Christine L. (Sterling) Hersh. They were married for 10 years on May 11, 2012. Bruce worked as a purchasing manager at H.T. Lyons, Allentown, for the past 20 years. Having previously, worked in the mechanical contracting business with East Penn Mechanical. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Donald L. and Lucille (Geissinger) Hersh. He was a 1972 graduate of William Allen High School. A member of Faith Alive United Methodist Church, Palmerton, he served on the financial committee and a past member of the adult choir and staff parish. Bruce was an avid sports fan, playing softball for many years. He wore the colors of his Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco Giants, proudly. Survivors: Wife; step-son: Craig Green of Palmerton; step-daughter: Julia wife of Daniel Burger of Boyertown; sisters: Ardda L. Hersh, wife of Brian Gallup of Tucson, AZ and Kyle L. wife of Michael Weber of Allentown; brother: David L. Hersh of Glastonbury, CT, Uncle Paul Geissinger; nephews: Todd Hamm and Samuel Parsell; nieces: Tiffany Hamm, Julia Hersh, Ansley Weber, Lydia Hersh, Katrina Hersh and Madison Hamm. Services: Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts., Allentown. Call Wednesday, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bruces memory to: Faith Alive United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 678 Pine St., Palmerton, PA 18071.
