Carolyn E. Hutter, 73, formerly of Emmaus, died Sept. 22, 2011 in Gracedale. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur D. Legs and Mae A. (Stortz) Krauss. She worked, as a dental assistant, seamstress for the former Hofferts Sewing Machine Factory, secretary for Westside Moravian Church, was a waitress for Green Pond Country Club, worked for Burger King and Turkey Hill. She volunteered as a lunch aide and a room mother at Roosevelt Elementary School and was a Brownie and Girlscout leader. She was a former member of Emmaus and Westside Moravian Church. She honorably served her country in the Air Force. Survivors: Daughters, Michelle L. Sellitti of Bethlehem and Lorraine M. Harrison of Allentown; brothers, Donald J. Krauss of Pensacola, FL and Richard D. Krauss of Emmaus; sister, Margaret R. Hassler of Bethlehem; five grandchildren. Services: Memorial Service Wed., Sept. 28, 2011 at 7 p.m. in Emmaus Moravian Church Chapel, Main St. and Keystone Ave., Emmaus. Private interment in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be made to schantzfh.com Contributions: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gracedale or to the Alzheimer's Association.

May the memory of Carolyn' spontaneous humor and laughter brighten our days despite our sadness in the loss of a loved one. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to have Carolyn as my sister, and she is helping me to cope even now. God speed.
