Cindy Meagher-Ernst Obituary

Cindy L. Meagher-Ernst passed away at the age of 54. After an eight year battle Cindy has won the fight and is now resting pain free in the house of our Lord Jesus Christ. A graduate of Slatington High School in 1979, Cindy worked for Kern's Flower Shop, in banking, as an insurance agent and finished her career as a quality assurance specialist for Sunguard Group. She was a member of St. John's U.C.C., Slatington. If planning on attending the service, Cindy requested that you wear bright colors. This is a celebration of her life filled with the wonderful friends and family she loved so much. Survivors: Husband, Ted Ernst; parents, John and Carole (Betzler) Meagher; sister, Susan Catteau; nieces & nephew. Services: Celebration of Life, 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, in the church, 15 Second Street, Slatington, PA 18080. Call 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the church, Pastor Henry Distler will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Slatington. Arrangements by Kevin E. Hunsicker Funeral Home Inc., Slatedale. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to oralcancerfoundation.org. As much as Cindy loved flowers, donations to the oral cancer foundation would be most appreciated. If we can prevent one family from having to deal with this dreaded disease it will make Cindy smile. http://donate.oralcancer.org/event/cindym/

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Cindy. Did Cindy have any cousin named Diane Meagher in San Francisco? Diane's family came from Slatington to California in the early fifties. Just wondering. Diane is my best friend.

Cindy we were so lucky to know you. If Kevin were still with us he would agree. We had so much fun working together in the flower shop. I'll never forget the night you were watching our children and came home to a house full of your friends having a last minute party! And our crazy hayride in Lake Wallenpaupack!! So many memories of you. I'm sorry we lost touch over the years but I'm glad we got to reconnect this past August.

My love and condolences to your husband Ted, your parents and family. May the angels watch over you and keep you by their side.

Sweet Cindy, I wish we had that chance to meet in person. So close we were. I'll always remember your last message to me. You've touched my life in a way you'll never know. Our paths crossed at just the right time and I will honor your memory by fighting with the grace and determination as you did. Ted, I'm so very sorry your love story had to end this way.

Dear Ted:
I write to you at this time with sadness in my heart over the loss of Cindy. I am so thankful to have reconnected with you and Cindy over the past two years. Cyndi was a Beautiful Person with a positive attitude and outlook that was remarkable! With every obstacle that she was dealt, she looked at each obstacle with a positive approach until which time her body finally said "enough", her will was still saying "fight"!! Memories of Potter County and picnics, mustaches in the bathroom and laughing until we couldn't breath anymore .....they are Priceless ! I know Cyndi has taught me to appreciate the little things, too laugh more often, spend time with friends/family and appreciate everyone. As much as my Heart aches for her passing, I know that she is healthy again and smiling down on each one of us! Soar High with the Angels My Friend until we meet again!
Love,
Jennifer Farber-Kern

You had such a magical way of making everyone feel cared for, loved, at ease and happy. Your strength and positivity were unmeasurable. You are free to fly like a beautiful butterfly. You made this earth a beautiful place to be and will continue to do so as you smile down on everyone. I will love you forever my sister by the sea. <3

So many great memories that I shall keep in my heart forever. We had some crazy nights running around town in your little blue car. Laughing so much our stomachs hurt. You are free and at peace now. I know when it's my turn, you'll be waiting with a quart in one hand for me! Love you!

Sail on, Queen Bee! You taught all of us that had the pleasure and honor to know you, that no matter what, we hold our heads high and we go forward! The world will weep at the loss of your presence, but no matter what, we will hold our heads high in remembrance of you, my dear friend. We will fight the battles of life, no matter how difficult they may be, because you taught us that, as well. Though our hearts ache today because you have gone, the memories of life, of love, of perserverance, of all that is good and more, that you taught us will forever be a part of us. Goodbye, my gentle giant in a small package. I'll see you there. Someday.

Ted, I offer my sincere condolences on your loss, as well as the entire huge circle of family and friends. May God comfort you today and awlays. May His pure agape love surround you. May His grace be sufficient for you, now and forever.

Cindy expressed her understanding, some call it zen. She loved the light. "So come my friends, be not afraid, we are so lightly here. It is in love that we are made, in love we disappear." [Leonard Cohen}

Growing up in a small town, as we did, makes for the fondest of memories all the way through our days at SHS. You always found a way to make us laugh. You had countless friends who wanted to always be around you because of your infectious laugh and sense of humor, which by the way remains unmatched to this day. I will always cherish your last message to me via a PM on FB which ended with you telling me you loved me. My friend, you were such a fighter, such a strong person who never wanted sadness or pity. You found ways to make even the darkest days seem somehow brighter. You will always be in my heart. The sound of your voice and your laugh will never be forgotten. I love you and when I get to meet you again I will be looking forward to you making me laugh. Until then my friend, this isn't goodbye, this is I'll be seeing again. I love you ♥
